Dr Paul Woodfield
Thank You for visiting!
I count myself fortunate to have been at the forefront of entrepreneurship education in Aotearoa New Zealand. Since 2002 I have studied, taught and researched entrepreneurship and innovation in various settings (including working in two Centres of Innovation and Entrepreneurship!).
A particular area of interest and expertise is in the context of family businesses and traditional industries, with a soft spot for the wine industry driven by a family heritage in winegrowing.
I hold a Master of Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and a PhD in Management from the University of Auckland. I also have an industry background as a construction cost consultant or quantity surveyor.
I consider myself an entrepreneur and innovator enabler which I channel through research, teaching, and advisory roles.
Interest
My research focusses on innovation and entrepreneurship and characterised by what occurs ‘in-between’ or ‘across’ disciplines, organisations, and contexts. I have a particular interest in family firms, traditional industries, and the role of knowledge in innovation.
